The Littelfuse SSAC AF231 is a solid-state alternating flasher for 120 V AC, with two outputs rated 20 A each (200 A inrush) that flash two loads in turn. It flashes at a fixed 10 flashes per minute (±10%), the standard factory rate. It flashes incandescent and resistive loads.
Upon application of input voltage Load 1 turns on and Load 2 stays off; at the end of the first period Load 2 turns on and Load 1 off, and the two alternate, for about equal times, until input voltage is removed. Removing input voltage resets the flasher. Solid state with no contacts to arc or wear (100 million operations typical) and encapsulated for outdoor use. It must be bolted to a metal surface with the supplied heat-sink compound (90 °C maximum surface).
Sequence: Alternating: Load 1, then Load 2, ≈ 50% on. Supply tolerance: ±15% of nominal; 50/60 Hz. Other fixed rates: 10 to 140 FPM ±10%, to order.
It is surface mounted with one #10 (M5) screw and has 0.250 in (6.3 mm) male quick-connect terminals. Dimensions: 2" H x 2" W x 1.30" D (50.8 x 50.8 x 33 mm). It operates from -20 to +60 °C and stores from -40 to +85 °C.
