The OptiFuse R1206LR-380-R is a 3.8 A hold 1206 surface-mount resettable PTC fuse, rated 6 VDC maximum.
A PTC fuse carries its hold current indefinitely; on an overcurrent it heats, its resistance rises sharply and it limits the current to a trickle, then resets on its own once the fault is removed and power is cycled. This one always trips at 8 A, in max. 5.00 s at 8.0 A.
It withstands a fault current of up to 100 A at rated voltage. Resistance: minimum 0.002 Ω, 0.014 Ω maximum one hour after tripping. Tripped, it dissipates typically 0.8 W. It operates from -40 to +85 °C.
Construction: outline 3.50 x 1.80 x 1.00 mm (max.); pure tin terminations.
