The OptiFuse RSUSB-250 is a 2.5 A hold radial-lead resettable PTC fuse, rated 16/30 VDC maximum.
A PTC fuse carries its hold current indefinitely; on an overcurrent it heats, its resistance rises sharply and it limits the current to a trickle, then resets on its own once the fault is removed and power is cycled. This one always trips at 5 A, in max. 40.0 s at 8 A; max. 10.3 s at 5 x IH.
It withstands a fault current of up to 40 A at rated voltage. Resistance: minimum 0.02 Ω, 0.07 Ω maximum one hour after tripping. Tripped, it dissipates typically 1.2 W. It operates from -40 to +85 °C.
Construction: outline 11.4 W x 18.3 H x 3.0 T mm (max.); lead spacing 5.1 mm; leads 24 AWG (0.51 mm); tin plated copper.
