The OptiFuse RS90-050 is a 500 mA hold radial-lead resettable PTC fuse, rated 72/90 VDC maximum.
A PTC fuse carries its hold current indefinitely; on an overcurrent it heats, its resistance rises sharply and it limits the current to a trickle, then resets on its own once the fault is removed and power is cycled. This one always trips at 1 A, in max. 4.0 s at 5 x IH.
It withstands a fault current of up to 40 A at rated voltage. Resistance: minimum 0.50 Ω, 1.17 Ω maximum one hour after tripping. Tripped, it dissipates typically 0.77 W. It operates from -40 to +85 °C.
Construction: outline 7.9 W x 13.7 H x 3.1 T mm (max.); lead spacing 5.1 mm; leads 24 AWG (0.51 mm); tin plated copper.
