The OptiFuse RS16-1400 is a 14 A hold radial-lead resettable PTC fuse, rated 16 VDC maximum.
A PTC fuse carries its hold current indefinitely; on an overcurrent it heats, its resistance rises sharply and it limits the current to a trickle, then resets on its own once the fault is removed and power is cycled. This one always trips at 23.8 A, in max. 20.0 s at 5 x IH.
It withstands a fault current of up to 100 A at rated voltage. Resistance: minimum 0.002 Ω, 0.008 Ω maximum one hour after tripping. Tripped, it dissipates typically 4.6 W. It operates from -40 to +85 °C.
Construction: outline 27.9 W x 27.9 H x 3.0 T mm (max.); lead spacing 10.2 mm; leads 18 AWG (1.0 mm); tin plated copper.
