The OptiFuse RS16-1000 is a 10 A hold radial-lead resettable PTC fuse, rated 16 VDC maximum.
A PTC fuse carries its hold current indefinitely; on an overcurrent it heats, its resistance rises sharply and it limits the current to a trickle, then resets on its own once the fault is removed and power is cycled. This one always trips at 17 A, in max. 12.5 s at 5 x IH.
It withstands a fault current of up to 100 A at rated voltage. Resistance: minimum 0.003 Ω, 0.012 Ω maximum one hour after tripping. Tripped, it dissipates typically 3.3 W. It operates from -40 to +85 °C.
Construction: outline 16.5 W x 24.1 H x 3.0 T mm (max.); lead spacing 5.1 mm; leads 20 AWG (0.81 mm); tin plated copper.
