The OptiFuse RS120-040 is a 400 mA hold radial-lead resettable PTC fuse, rated 120 VAC/DC maximum.
A PTC fuse carries its hold current indefinitely; on an overcurrent it heats, its resistance rises sharply and it limits the current to a trickle, then resets on its own once the fault is removed and power is cycled. This one always trips at 800 mA, in max. 6.5 s at 5 x IH.
It withstands a fault current of up to 3 A at rated voltage and interrupts up to 135 V. Resistance: minimum 0.55 Ω, 1.29 Ω maximum one hour after tripping. Tripped, it dissipates typically 1.44 W. It operates from -40 to +85 °C.
Construction: outline 8.2 W x 14.2 H x 3.8 T mm (max.); lead spacing 5.1 mm; leads 22 AWG (0.65 mm); tin plated copper.
