The OptiFuse RAVT-240 is a 2.4 A hold battery-strap resettable PTC fuse, rated 16 VDC maximum.
A PTC fuse carries its hold current indefinitely; on an overcurrent it heats, its resistance rises sharply and it limits the current to a trickle, then resets on its own once the fault is removed and power is cycled. This one always trips at 5.9 A, in max. 5.0 s at 5 x IH.
It withstands a fault current of up to 100 A at rated voltage. Resistance: minimum 0.014 Ω, maximum 0.026 Ω, 0.052 Ω maximum one hour after tripping. Tripped, it dissipates typically 1.0 W. It operates from -40 to +85 °C.
Construction: outline 23.8 x 4.9 x 0.5 mm (max.); nickel strap, 0.13 mm.
