The OptiFuse RAVL-230 is a 2.3 A hold battery-strap resettable PTC fuse, rated 12 VDC maximum.
A PTC fuse carries its hold current indefinitely; on an overcurrent it heats, its resistance rises sharply and it limits the current to a trickle, then resets on its own once the fault is removed and power is cycled. This one always trips at 5 A, in max. 5.0 s at 5 x IH.
It withstands a fault current of up to 100 A at rated voltage. Resistance: minimum 0.012 Ω, maximum 0.018 Ω, 0.036 Ω maximum one hour after tripping. Tripped, it dissipates typically 1.4 W. It operates from -40 to +85 °C.
Construction: outline 20.9 x 4.9 x 0.5 mm (max.); nickel strap, 0.13 mm.
